I'm Brian Garvey and I have hosted 10 episodes of Black Cab Show over the past year or so. The aims and objectives of the podcast are to provide London's taxi cab drivers with information on their trade and the efforts their taxi trade representative organisations are making to protect their jobs and the prestige of their noble profession.
As it was started with the United Trade Action Group in mind aka UTAG, it should in time develop the themes and ideas as that particular legal campaign progresses.
The cab driving community in London is diverse and rich in all sorts of characters and personalities who have come from different walks of life and settled on driving a cab in many different capacities. The history of the trade is fascinating, it catalogues all major historical movements and developments London and the UK has faced. There's always a story to be told and we feel it's our duty at Black Cab Show to recount it to you.
